Palam Colony, Dwarka · since 2004
Little steps, big dreams
A home-like preschool in Palam where children aged 1.5 to 6 learn through play, stories and a fair amount of mess. Twenty years of first days, first friends and first big ideas.
Why parents choose us
A small school that knows every child
Twenty children to a class. Never more.
Learning that looks like play
Sand trays, story circles and building blocks do the teaching. Language, numbers and sharing get picked up without anyone sitting still for long.
Safe from gate to gate
Cameras in every room, a named adult recorded for each pick-up, and a trained first-aider on site through the whole morning.
Teachers who stay
Most of our teachers have been here more than five years. Your child is known by name, by mood and by what they had for breakfast.
Room to be brave
Show and tell every Friday, stage time at the annual day, and small wins celebrated far more loudly than they need to be.
Programs
Four years, four very different children
Each group moves at its own pace. We group by readiness as much as by birthday, so nobody is pushed and nobody is bored.
Playgroup
The settling-in year. Sensory bins, water play, songs with actions, and learning that a grown-up always comes back.
Nursery
Sounds, shapes and sentences. Children start telling their own stories and holding a crayon like they mean it.
Lower KG
Phonics, early numbers and the first taste of working in a group towards something bigger than yourself.
Upper KG
School readiness without the pressure: reading, writing, and the confidence to walk into a big school in April.
A morning here
What happens between 8:45 and 12:30
Tap a time to see what your child would be doing right about then.
8:45 · Welcome circle
Shoes off, bags on the hook, and a song that names every child in the room. Attendance is taken by asking each one what kind of animal they feel like today.
9:15 · Sounds and stories
Twenty focused minutes of phonics, then a picture book read twice: once for the story, once so the children can tell it back in their own words.
10:00 · Snack and wash-up
Tiffin boxes opened without help wherever possible. Spills are expected. Washing hands, wiping the table and packing up are part of the lesson.
10:30 · Free play zones
Blocks, dress-up, sand, a reading corner and a doctor set. Children choose, teachers watch and only step in when a negotiation needs a referee.
11:15 · Art, music or movement
Monday clay, Tuesday rhythm, Wednesday paint, Thursday yoga, Friday show and tell. Aprons on, and nobody is told their sky is the wrong colour.
12:00 · Wind-down and home
A quiet song, a note in the diary about how the morning went, and release only to the adult listed on the pick-up card.

Every photo here was taken on an ordinary morning.

★★★★★The Christmas carnival that was recently held at Yellow Pencil school was an event fun filled and amazing experience for kids. All the arrangements were very systematic and each stall has their own unique style. My little one’s had a blast with the buggy ride, tattoos and other games. In simple words, it was a memorable and enjoyable event.A big thank you to Purnima Mam and all staffs 😀 for the arranging the Santa home visits with special gifts.🎁

Admissions
Three steps, no queue at 6 am
Come and look around
Any weekday between 9 and 12, while class is running. Seeing a normal morning tells you more than an empty building on a Sunday.
Bring your child for a play session
An hour in the classroom with the teacher they would actually have. No assessment, no interview. We are watching for comfort, not ability.
Confirm the seat
Birth certificate, two photographs, immunisation record and the fee for the first term. The seat is held from the day you confirm.
Enquire
Tell us about your child
We reply the same working day, usually with a call. Nothing is shared with anyone else.
